JLo wins lawsuit against her ex

Jennifer Lopez is nearly $545,000 richer thanks to a lawsuit against her first husband, Ojani Noa. Lopez filed suit against Noa, claiming his plans to write a tell-all book were in violation of a previous lawsuit settlement preventing him from revealing private information about their relationship. A court-ordered arbitrator decided on the damages in April, which include $200,000 plus legal fees, and also awarded a permanent injunction against Noa barring him from "criticizing, denigrating, casting in a negative light or otherwise disparaging or causing disparagement" to Lopez. Noa was also directed to give his ex-wife copies of all materials related to the book. The arbitration decision became public earlier this week when Lopez's lawyer filed papers asking a judge to confirm the award. A hearing is scheduled for September 5. The unpublished, ghostwritten book reportedly alleges that Lopez had several affairs while married to Noa, including one with her present husband Marc Anthony.

"Normal" couple JLo and Marc considering joint tour

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are considering a joint tour, hot on the heels of their album and film collaborations. "Jennifer has never toured," Anthony recently told Billboard mag. "I've toured all my life. This is where I can step in and say, 'Oh, my God, this could be fun' and introduce her to that world. It is something she's always wanted to do, but she's never had the time. And I was offered many more films I never took advantage of because I was always on tour. So yes, we're seriously talking about going out this year [and] putting together an amazing show with just her and myself." When asked about how he and Lopez collaborate, Anthony said, "A big part of mine and Jennifer's connection is the understanding that we have a passion for what we do. So, it's just a natural progression to be involved. Me, I cannot sit down and have a conversation about image. That's her strong suit. She picks me up where I'm weak and I elevate her where she's weak. That's where the true partnership comes in." In another interview with Latina magazine, Anthony discussed the "highly charged scenes" he and Lopez shot for their movie El Cantante. "All my actor friends warned us, saying, 'Those abusive husband-and-wife scenes are gonna be difficult.' It almost scared me into quitting," he says. "With those scenes, we'd end up exhausted. But driving home, we'd just look at each other and say, 'We are so normal.'"

Jennifer Lopez is getting some slack about wearing fur, which she does frequently. The singer has reportedly been getting letters from animal-rights activists threatening "to kill her in public, just like the slaughtered animals whose fur she wears." According to a source, Lopez initially ignored the letters, dismissing them as crazy junk mail, but husband Marc Anthony is taking the threats more seriously. "He has hired two off-duty police officers, in addition to her usual security team, to watch over Lopez whenever she makes public appearances," says the source. A rep for Lopez, however, denies the claims, saying, "[Lopez] has had the same security team she has always had."

The billionaire founder of MDM Bank shelled out over $2 million for the singer to perform for 40 minutes at a joint birthday party for he and his wife on Saturday night. "I can confirm that a very high-profile American singer performed at a private party in Surrey," the billionaire's spokesperson says. JLo charged a whopping $1.2 million for the set itself, plus $800,000 for the singer, husband Marc Anthony and their entourage to fly to England and stay at London's Mandarin Oriental hotel.

Mr. Lopez owes $2.5 million in back taxes

Marc Anthony may have been paying too much attention to wife Jennifer Lopez - and not enough to his taxes. The Latin crooner has agreed to pay nearly $2.5 million in back taxes after failing to file returns on nearly $15.5 million in income over a five-year period. Anthony was not personally named as having committed tax fraud, but three of his companies are involved. Two of the singer's managers have pleaded guilty to various offenses, but Anthony avoided prosecution as he was apparently unaware that his taxes were not paid between 2000 and 2004. Lopez was not involved in the investigation and she and Anthony do not file their taxes together.

Trouble for JLo and Marc?

Are things less than perfect for celebrity couple Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony? OK! mag seems to think so. The weekly mag alleges the two have "called it quits" due to Marc being a "controlling husband" who is "suffocating" his wife. "Marc is very machismo," says a source. "Marc won't let her even do a photo shoot by herself. He is always there watching, waiting." The mag cites several blow out arguments, including one on New Year's Eve when Lopez attending a party on her own. "Marc expected Jennifer to follow him back to New York and beg for forgiveness, but she didn't," says a friend. At a Golden Globes party, "Marc [dragged] Jennifer away after spotting her dancing with another man." The high-profile couple are seen everywhere together, however, and an actual friend of the pair told the New York Daily News, "They're inseparable. I don't get a whiff of trouble."

Jennifer Lopez is continuing her foray into the world of television with a five-hour musical miniseries. The project, "La Flor Palida," will feature music from Lopez's new Spanish-language album and is set to begin production in Mexico City in May. "She had an idea to create a miniseries in the old grand style of things like The Thorn Birds, but using the words in the music to drive the narrative," said the singer's manager. "There are some autobiographical elements," he added of the story, which revolves around a movie star who is constantly in the public eye. "[The lead character] gets caught in a scandal and ends up running from her boyfriend and meeting up with an old friend from her past." Lopez, whose Dance Life reality show aired on MTV earlier this year, will not act in the project, but will sing a song from her album at the end of each episode.

We want to be the best person we can be for each other. And we work on that. That's what a real relationship is about to me... When we got married, I was like, 'I've been working for I don't know how many years at [a high] level of intensity and exposure.' I'm going to get back to what originally drew me to expressing myself as a creative person." Lopez calls her new Spanish-language album "an opportunity for me to show my emotions, vulnerability and passion. I don't get to do that as much in English."

Jennifer Lopez took a break from her promo tour today to report for jury duty at the Beverly Hills courthouse. Lopez reportedly spent most of the day text messaging friends in the jury room. The court case was resolved by 2:30 Monday afternoon, and all prospective jurors - JLo included - were free to go.

JLo upsets Latino music stores

Hispanic fans of Jennifer Lopez are unhappy with the singer after she reportedly refused to promote her new Spanish-language album in Ritmo Latino stores, the largest Latino music chain. Ritmo Latino is permanently removing JLo's music from their shelves in all 50 U.S. stores after the singer "refused personally to promote her new CD in any of our stores," said the chain's president. "We've supported her from the beginning. Now we're told by her record company she will only visit Anglo retail outlets." Lopez made an appearance at an "Anglo" F.Y.E. store in the Bronx on Wednesday.
