Brad Pitt showed up for jury duty at an LA court this morning and was assigned to a DUI case. After postponing the duty numerous times, Pitt arrived in a white tee, jeans and a newsboy cap and came equipped with a book. According to Us mag, the Babel star was quietly reading his book when he was interrupted by a woman brandishing a magazine that claimed he had split with Angelina Jolie who asked, "Is this true?" Pitt was reportedly moved to a private room, where an assistant delivered Subway for lunch. The defendant in the DUI case accepted a deal, letting Pitt off the hook.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the picture used for the cover of New Idea magazine will be reproduced on a .50 cent stamp. "These stamps will become instantly collectible and sought after by philatelists around the country," said a rep for New Idea.

The Jolie-Pitts visit French amusement park

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and their brood made a surprise visit to an amusement park in the Charente-Limousin region in France last week. "We're a small little town, we're not used to having celebrities," an employee of the park told a local paper. "We don't get French celebrities, so it's completely crazy to find yourself standing with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, the most chased-after couple in the world in front of you. Completely crazy." Last Monday, while the park's six employees were having lunch, a blacked-out Mercedes van pulled up carrying the Jolie-Pitt clan. "I asked myself, 'Who is this man with a ball cap and this woman with black sunglasses?'" said another staffer. "We were all extremely shocked. Employees offered to waive the entry fee, but Pitt and Jolie insisted on paying and stayed about an hour. "To see Brad Pitt knocking around in a bouncy castle with his children [and] screaming like wild animals was like a hallucination," said the park's operator.

Angelina: "I am a very lucky woman"

Angelina Jolie is still gushing over her relationship with Ocean's 13 star Brad Pitt. While promoting A Mighty Heart, the actress and activist told a British paper, "I am a very lucky woman. I have a beautiful family and Brad is a supportive friend and a great father. And he is very romantic. We talk very deeply about how we feel. We're very similar. We support each other and back each other as parents. There is no divide... When my mother died Brad held her hand and helped me through all the stages of dealing with someone dying. After the funeral Brad brought everyone back to the house and asked questions about our mom. He focused on all the love and all the joy we were fortunate enough to have had. He is an extraordinary man."

Having a brood of four children is taking its toll on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's private time. The Mighty Heart actress told Marie Claire mag, "Mommy and Daddy need to try to figure out more time right now... Everybody needs individual time. Shiloh has our attention when the others are at school. Mad stays up the latest, so he gets the nighttime. During the day, I'll go for a walk or do something specific with Pax or Z... We're working on it, we're working on it. Right now, we're not great about Mommy-and-Daddy time."

Angelina Jolie says her life is an open book in an interview with Ann Curry to air on the Today show and Dateline this Wednesday. "There's nothing I have to hide or defend," Jolie says. "I'm gonna live my life. There are gonna be times when people wanna try to attack me and I don't know why, but they will. And that's okay... There are other things I'm more concerned about. My kids are healthy. I have a lot I want to do in this world... I wanna do a lot of things as a woman, as a mom, and - and that's my focus... I have always been honest about who I am, and I've always been very outspoken to press. I think people have heard a lot from me over the years... [If] people wanna believe negative things, they will... I can't help that. At the end of the day, I'm gonna be dead one day. And what people say about me is gonna be what I accomplished and what I did in my life and how my children are." Jolie and partner Brad Pitt attended the Cannes premiere of A Mighty Heart today, in which the actress plays Mariane Pearl, the wife of slain journalist Daniel Pearl. "God, how...is this woman physically dealing with trying to maintain her strength and take care of this baby that's inside her, working so hard and...having so much emotional stress?" Jolie told Curry of the first time she met Pearl. "The day before we started shooting, I hardly slept and I was in a panic. I had gotten to know her, and I'd gotten to know their son. And the thought that he would see this one day. It was my responsibility to not just show the world but also show him how much his mother loved his father and how much they loved each other and how they handled this time."

Brangelina descend on Cannes

The Cannes Film Fest took on a whole new level of celebrity with the arrival of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on Sunday. The couple attended a press conference for A Mighty Heart, where Jolie admitted she had some fears about portraying the role of Mariane Pearl. "I was very, very nervous to get it right," she said. "Mariane seems to think we've done all right." The ubercouple and their four children are staying in a villa at the exclusive Hotel du Cap. "We got here yesterday and we had a beautiful day with our kids," Jolie said. "We've been playing with them since the moment we landed, and we plan to go home to them as soon as we are done with this." Pitt attended the conference as producer of the film, and said of the project, "It was our goal to see this thing through. And to fight hatred... As a father, too, I look at my kids and realize they will inherit this world. And we want to do everything we can to throw our weight in and make it a little bit better."

Brad, George and Matt shine spotlight on Darfur

Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Matt Damon and Don Cheadle have agreed to use the publicity for their upcoming film Ocean's Thirteen to draw attention to the genocide in Darfur. The foursome have partnered with the International Rescue Committee to launch www.notonourwatchproject.org, a website dedicated to raising funds to help the thousands of people uprooted by the conflict in Sudan's Darfur region. "All the guys have been to the Sudan this year. They saw this huge genocide and nobody doing anything about it," said the film's producer on Thursday. "Clooney got attention earlier, but it faded. What we are trying to do here is bring our celebrity to raise money and bring a spotlight on Sudan again. We decided to dedicate ourselves to this. The thing I am most proud of by far is that these events will benefit a cause that is very important to me and my colleagues."

Angelina opens up about Pax

Angelina Jolie recently spoke to Reader's Digest about her new adopted son Pax, being a mom, and partner Brad Pitt.

On hooking up with Brad: "I met this amazing person, and we realized we had very similar views on how we wanted to live our lives. It's happened so quickly, with so many children. Yesterday, picking up the kids from school, Brad turned around in the car, and there were three of them. He couldn't stop laughing. We love them and are having a great time."

On planning for Shiloh: "Before I met Brad, I always said I was happy never to have a child biologically. He told me he hadn't given up on that thought. Then, a few months after Z came home, I saw Brad with her and Mad, and I realized how much he loved them, and a biological child would not in any way be a threat. So I said, 'I want to try.'"

On how Pax is adjusting to his new life: "The first two days he cried a lot. I hired a translator, and he would explain what was going on. The first night, I slept alone with him. I was expecting him to wake up and scream, but he woke and just stared at me. I handed him a stuffed animal, and we walked around the room pointing at things. By day three, he didn't want me to put him down. I think he got used to the reality that somebody loves you and that's what a mommy is... I think Pax, after seeing how much Zahara and Mad and Shi love Brad, understands that [Brad's] his daddy. Everybody seems to be safe in his arms. He makes everybody laugh. He helps everybody."

On how she and Brad get time alone: "Right now, that's our problem! We hang out. We try to talk over the swingset. We'll have a date night once everybody is settled. Pax still gets scared if I'm gone for more than a few hours. But we'll get them occupied with a movie and popcorn and try to run off and lock the door for a bit."

On whether they are affected by gossip: "Our first question is what paper is it in. The New York Times? If not, do we really need to worry?"

Brad's western to hit theaters in September

Nearly two years after shooting wrapped on the film The Assassination of Jesse James, the Brad Pitt flick will finally be released on September 21. According to a report in the LA Times, the movie's release was delayed due to a post-production clash between the director and Warner Bros. over the film's length and tone. Pitt's co-stars in the movie include Mary Louise Parker, Sam Rockwell, Zooey Deschanel, Casey Affleck and Jeremy Renner, who says, "it's like any other western... It's a 178 page epic. It's going to be a beautiful, beautiful movie. I haven't seen too much of it. [But] everytime I wanted to quit, I'd go to the monitor and think, 'This is why I'm here five months in freezing weather not doing a whole lot other than riding a horse and shooting a gun.'... It's more like Goodfellas in the sense that we could be sitting at this table, talking over coffee, but wondering who's going to kill who. There's a tension that's in a lot of scenes. [James] is going crazy and doesn't know who to trust anymore."

Angelina requests name change for Pax

Angelina Jolie filed a petition in LA Superior Court last week to formally change her newly adopted son's name to Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt. Jolie states in court documents that she is "the sole adoptive parent of the child" and is requesting the name change "in order that her child's last name will incorporate and be combined with the last name of her partner and be the same as that of her other children." A hearing will be held at the end of May in Santa Monica to finalize the details. Jolie made a similar request for her other adopted children, Maddox and Zahara, to officially be named Jolie-Pitt in January 2006.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have confirmed that they will present their film A Mighty Heart at the Cannes Film Festival next month. The movie, produced by Pitt's film company, stars Jolie as Mariane Pearl, the widow of reporter Daniel Pearl. "The story unfolds like a mystery," Jolie told EW mag. "You've got people collecting clues and trying to solve what happened. But it's also very real and personal. We didn't want it to be too melodramatic or too polished. "Supergirl" story a load of rubbish

Looks like the story that circulated earlier this week about Brad Pitt lamenting all the press attention he and partner Angelina Jolie get to a journalist at the Roosevelt Hotel is just that - a story. In an article in the British Daily Mail on Monday, the author claims he chatted up Pitt while the actor swilled a beer and waited for friends at the trendy Hollywood hotel. Pitt is quoted as calling tabloid stories "rubbish" and describing Jolie as "Supergirl." Pitt's rep, however, says the "interview" never happened, and that his client wouldn't use British slang or refer to Jolie as "Supergirl." TMZ.com tried repeatedly to get in touch with the story's creator, but he didn't respond to requests to explain his side of the tale.

Brangelina commission $270 million yacht

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are buying a $270 million - yup, say it again - $270 million Italian luxury yacht. The couple has commissioned a 280-foot-long boat to be fitted with two 300-square-foot apartments, two guest suites, a swimming pool, heliport, speedboats and a small submarine. The yacht will be built by a luxury shipbuilder in Civitavecchia, a port town north of Rome.

Angelina's brother spills more beans

Angelina Jolie's brother has spoken to another magazine about his famous sibling. Following are a few excerpts from James Haven's interview with Grazia mag.

On rumors that Jolie controls Brad Pitt: "I have never seen any sign of tension between them. They make all their decisions together. It's rubbish that she tries to control him. They have a balanced relationship; they each do their stuff. I've never seen moments where one is nagging or controlling the other."

On how Pitt changed his sister: "Brad has changed my sister a lot. They have an extraordinary bond, but not on the usual level. Brad is so strong for her, when she feels vulnerable, he has the most incredible strength. She says she couldn't have adopted more children after Maddox without him."

On why their relationship works: "The great thing about Brad and Angelina is that they really get each other's sense of humor, and make each other laugh a lot. They talk about politics a great deal and are very creative together with projects they are working on. If it keeps going the way it's going, they'll be together for life."
