Casshern Sins OST - At last!!

When I did the review of the Casshern Sins Complete Album (here), I mentioned my frustration of not having the full version of the beautiful insert song "A Path" sung by Nami Miyahara. My prayers have now been answered... The Casshern Sins OST has the full version along with 25 BGM tracks by Kaoru Wada. Overall, it's a really solid soundtrack with sad and compelling tracks, as well as action and angst-ridden tracks. You might have already heard some of Kaoru Wada's music, if you watch D. Gray Man or have watched Inuyasha! He's quite the talented composer...

Here's my rating for the Casshern Sins OST: 7.5/10

Casshern Sins Special Complete

While most of us are waiting impatiently for the Casshern Sins OST, here's something that can make the wait more bearable: A special compilation album entitled "Casshern Sins Special Complete". It includes the TV versions of the OPs and EDs from Casshern Sins, some of the insert songs, BGM tracks, and the OP for the original Casshern series from 1973. It's a basically a Casshern pot-pourri!

6/10 All I can say after listening to this album, is that I can't wait for the "real" Casshern Sins OST! It's like they're teasing us with this album. I don't quite understand the logic of it. Why don't we have the full version of the beautiful insert song "a path" by Nami Miyahara (see my posts on the insert songs here)?? The Instrumental version is fine, but the real version would have been better! Thank god, they gave us SKY which is awesome. My favorite track of the album is LUNA, such a wonderful and sad song!! I'm not a big fan of OP for the original Casshern series by Isao Sasaki though. Too cheesy for my taste!

Casshern Sins Insert Songs - Episode 8 (Janice)

I just finished watching the last Casshern Sins episode (episode 8) and I couldn't help noticing the two beautiful insert songs sung by Janice (Nami Miyahara). This episode was not only visually stunning but also aurally stunning thanks to these two songs (SKY and A Path).


8.5/10 SKY by Nami Miyahara was my favorite of the two songs. It was the song sung by Janice at the very end of the episode, when Casshern is outside fighting. Her song represents hope against the Ruin. It felt really emotional, especially the end with the piano. You can download a ripped mp3 of the song here.

8/10 A Path is sung at the very beginning of the episode, when we first get to meet Janice. The song is much shorter than SKY, but the melody is equally beautiful. Download the mp3 of the song here.
